Island Green Landscaping was founded in Victoria in 2012 by Marcus Reid — a lifelong Vancouver Islander who spent a decade in commercial horticulture before deciding to build something of his own.
The idea was simple: create a landscaping company that strata councils and property managers could genuinely rely on. Not one that overpromises and underdelivers, but one that shows up consistently, communicates clearly, and takes real pride in the work.
Fourteen years later, we maintain over 150 properties across Vancouver Island — from Victoria to Campbell River. The company has grown, but the values haven't changed.
Our Journey
14 Years on the Island
Founded in Victoria with two crews and a focus on strata maintenance.
Expanded to Nanaimo and the Cowichan Valley. Reached 50 active properties.
Launched our landscape design and installation division.
Added irrigation services and smart controller programs island-wide.
Surpassed 150 active properties. Expanded crews to the Comox Valley and Campbell River.
Continuing to grow — same values, same commitment to Vancouver Island.

Marcus Reid
Founder & Owner
Born and raised in Victoria, Marcus started Island Green in 2012 after a decade working in commercial horticulture. His vision: build a landscaping company that strata managers and property owners could actually rely on.
Diane Kowalski
Operations Manager
Diane oversees scheduling, crew coordination, and client communications across all active properties. She's the reason our crews show up on time and our clients always know what's happening.
Priya Nair
Landscape Designer
With a diploma in Landscape Horticulture from Camosun College, Priya leads our design and installation projects. She specializes in low-maintenance, climate-appropriate planting for Vancouver Island conditions.
